VICTIM OF ENGINEERING

If you are reading this then there is a 75% possibility that you are one of the victims. Am not an enemy of Technical Education and I don’t oppose any Engineering Institutions, am just here to share some facts that prevail today. Engineering have become a fancy word now-a-days especially in Tamilnadu. Getting seats in an Engineering institution is 1000 times easier than reserving tickets in Railways. I know it’s too late to tell you but if you are about to join Engineering courses, just spend a day and visit the industrial complexes (SIPCOT) in Chennai. You can visualise group of young Engineers in formal attire holding Certificates in their hands, visiting the gates of each and every companies returning with shame and disappointment. Currently there is no vacancy for Engineers in most of the companies and in some cases if a job opening for Engineer is available, the companies tend to use Private Job Consultancies so that they could benefit from it. I am an Engineer and I possess 8.19 CGPA in Engineering. I walked through almost all the companies of the Industrial complex and I received the same answer which shocked me. The reply was “Do you have any Recommendation Letter? And Do you know any person from this company for reference?” . Your Marks and skills won’t matter anything, all that you need is Recommendation from powerful persons. And the worst part is Students from Govt. university branches are ridiculed and they don’t get any recognition even though they possess good grades. And there is no genuine selection process in many companies, most of the companies have disabled their careers option from websites. This is the current situation of the students who chose Engineering. So it is upto you to take the decision, just take into account the number of young professionals who will be  out of the Engineering colleges in the next 4 years. Act Smart choose your Career path Wisely. I AM ONE OF THE VICTIMS, DO YOU WANT TO BECOME ONE???????
